With the extensive use and even abuse of antibiotics in healthcare, livestock breeding, and aquaculture, as well as their discharge into the environment through wastewater, antibiotic pollutants exhibit strong adsorption and resistance to degradation. They can induce drug resistance and toxicity, with some intermediate byproducts formed during the treatment process being more toxic than the parent compounds themselves, posing a severe threat and challenge to environmental pollution and human health.

Weiyel has recently launched new quality control samples for quinolone and sulfonamide antibiotics in water, suitable for routine analysis, testing, and method evaluation in laboratory quality control.
